This year in the absence of the Pro Wakeboard Tour Stop, which normally invades Portland in Mid-July, The Tige Pro-Am stepped up to fill the void. It is unfortunate that the PWT dropped Portland because fans and riders alike seemed to look forward to the last stop in Portland with enthusiasm and anticipation. So if you are unaware of the comp this weekend out at Blue Lake Park go check it out and support the riders. Known Northwest native riders slated to compete include Alex Scagliotti, Rob Carter, Aaron Rathy, Silas Thurman, Thomas Olson, James Balzer, and Evan Park.

Alex Scagliotti Talks About ELEVATE WAKEBOARD CAMP

Posted on November 8th, 2007 by Bryan Myss | Posted in Events, General, Riders

elevate-bannerkids.jpg

Northwest Rider Alex Scagliotti, a staple rider from Central Oregon, took some time to write up a blog about ELEVATE Wakeboard Camp which he coaches at throughout the summer months. WakeboardNorthwest strongly recommends you check this camp out and book your session for next Summer. ELEVATE Wakeboard Camp runs on Prineville Reservoir during the summer and on Lake Billy Chinook (for an all ladies camp).

“I have been lucky enough to be with the camp from the beginning, the ground level. When the organizer, Gregg Garretson, contacted me and asked me if I wanted to be a coach for this brand new wakeboard camp, I jumped on the opportunity right away. I knew that there had been an Elevate Snowboard Camp and had heard from friends that it was a blast, so I was stoked to hear they were breaking off into wakeboarding as well. With the growing interest of this relatively new sport in central Oregon, I knew it was only a matter of time until someone stepped up and spearheaded this new movement; Elevate was that pioneer.” - Alex Scagliotti : ELEVATE Coach & Rider

Vote For “Transgression” On OUR STAGE

Posted on November 5th, 2007 by Bryan Myss | Posted in General, Media

Northwest Film Maker, Ron Seidenglanz of Sidewayz, needs your VOTE. Transgression, Ron’s latest film, is in the running for “Best Action Sports Film” alongside BMX and Skate videos. So, this is a call, a call to all Wakeboarders to go support a NW local, another groundbreaking Wakeboard Film, and the sport we all love.

In the words of Randall Harris :

“Sidewayz holds the paintbrush, the GB team is the ink, and our many canvases include Florida, California, Mexico, Singapore, Thailand, Bali, Dominican Republic and more. We poured blood, sweat and tears into this masterpiece. Transgression transcends beyond the mere confines of a wakeboard film. For those involved it was an adventure. For me it was a life changing experience. For you this will be an inspirational cinematic journey.” - Valla Con Dios, Vandall

Check out the Transgression Teaser and link to “Our Stage” to log your VOTE after the jump.
