There has been plenty of buzz about the all new Hyperlite Marek Rusty Malinoski pro model wakeboard. We have had coverage recently with a little teaser video, and WakeOrigin.com has shown us the details.

Hyperlite is set to release the all new and highly anticipated MAREK wakeboard. The world of wake will bea able to purchase this board, Rusty Malinoski’s new pro-model, on May 15, 2008 at shops all over. The board utilizes Hyperlite’s D.I.N.E. technology that is also used in the Sub VI and Murray models. The price tag of these boards is a little higher, but worth the extra coin. This tech provides a much lighter and much stronger board.

It’s here! Scratch Films fourth release, “Godspeed,” is now available at premier board shops everywhere. There are still some upcoming video premieres (including one at Central Washington University on Friday, April 4th). Go out and grab a copy now. The film was shot at multiple locations from multiple trips around Washington, Georgia, Idaho, and elsewhere. The film stars: Nick Ennen, Robby Carter, Jimmy Wolfe, Brett Lee, Chris Craig, Brandon Lee, Rhett Whatley, Mike Cardoza, Sean O’Brien, Thomas Olson, and Travis Propst.

Do you hear that? That is the sound of yet another fantastic Northwest Summer approaching. Okay…so last Summer was a bit off in terms of the perfect weather, but we all managed to have a blast nonetheless. This season is shaping up to be a great one and with it comes the kickoff of the 2008 Northwest Riders Clothing Company Summer Tour presented with Malibu Boats. The gang has a sweet new Wakesetter 23 LSV and plenty of other new additions to the NWR family.

The newly updated Slingshot Wakeboard web site has a familiar face on the Team page for 2008. Brandon Robins of Lake Tapps, WA has been on the Slingshot Regional team from the early stages of the company and has a new Bio page on the site. Robins has worked on staying injury free this “off-season” (He skis/snowboards 125+ times a season) and is looking to get a ton of water time for ‘08.

Northwest based Straight Line Watersports (Vancouver, WA) has been sold to Liquid Force. This deal pits the top wakeboard manufacturer with the top handle/line manufacturer in the industry. In a move that will mainly be felt behind the scenes in shops and dealerships, Liquid Force once again shows its ambition in the wake industry to be the best there is.

Straight Line has always been my handle of choice when riding…handles and lines are what they do and what they have always done best in my opinion. It will be interesting to see where this new move takes them.
