Inland Empire in Wakeboarding Magazine

Posted on May 6th, 2008 by Zack | Posted in General, Media

The June 2008 issue of Wakeboarding Magazine has a one page writeup from Northwest staple Rick Knott and a sweet photo of Chris Craig’s Malibu by Sean Watson (the photographer, not the rider). The writeup highlights the Inland Empire. Some of you may not know much about the Inland Empire, but it is made up of some of the best wake spots anywhere. The area consists of Central and Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and a touch of Northeast Oregon and Northwest Montana. Growing up in Northeast Washington, this brief look at the area got me a little homesick.

Liquid Force Video Interview with Northwest’s Mike Ennen

Posted on April 25th, 2008 by Zack | Posted in General, Media, Riders

Liquid Force has been adding a lot of great content lately on their web site. Included in that content are some video interviews that showcase team riders. Mike Ennen, from Big Lake, WA, currently has a segment you can check out.

Mike has been a staple for the Northwest Wake scene for as long as I can remember and has arguably made more waves on the pro level than anyone else from the area. Ennen has been a huge part of Liquid Force’s growth and that is seen with his own signature designs now being used on some of the vests, boards, and other products that Liquid Force Wakeboards has on the market.

Head on over to www.LiquidForce.com and watch the video.

Rockwilder (producer for Method Man, Red Man, Wu Tang Clan, Jay-Z and others) now presents Board Beats and “Blue Octane.” Rockwilder has stepped into the wake scene and is helping pro riders take their love of music to a whole new level.

Glimpse :: Northwest’s Radar Lake

Posted on April 21st, 2008 by Zack | Posted in General, Media

Radar Lake has had its fair share of coverage both in photos and in articles. The Hyperlite wakeboard team made it famous throughout wakeboarding with team videos like “Welcome,” “Counterfeit This,” and others. After the Hyperlite breakup of a few years ago when founder Herb O’Brien and son Paul left the company, Radar Lake became the home of Square One Distribution…parent company of Ronix Wakeboards. Following the O’Briens were the likes of some of the sports best, including Northwest talent (BC Canada) Chad Sharpe.

Insight :: Chad Sharpe - A Radix Hymn

Posted on April 17th, 2008 by Zack | Posted in General, Media, Riders

There have been a few occasions where I have talked to Chad Sharpe, and the thing that always sticks out in my mind is how quiet and calm he seems. Now I am sure this is much different than how he is around his friends and family, but in a lot of ways it is one of the reasons I like him so much as a rider. He is not the loudest one in the group commanding everyone elses attention. However, when he gets on the water he always rides with power and fluidity and grabs the respect he deserves. Sharpe’s video parts are always some of my favorites also. I have always enjoyed seeing into the lives of riders a little more…similar to how an MTV Cribs episode gives you a look at someone’s life that you otherwise would not have had.
