Alex Scagliotti, 3rd place podium at WWA Nationals, accepting his trophy.

Randy Scagliotti, our “WakeNW field reporter”, dropped us an update from WWA Nationals. Check out his recap of the event and how our resident Northwest Riders finished at WWA Nationals over the weekend.

Bend Oregon native, Alex Scagliotti, finished strong with a 3rd place podium finish in Junior Men. He missed 2nd place by a slim margin at 1/3 of a point. Alex has been riding consistent throughout the contest season thus far competing at every major pro event this year. Congratulations Alex, we are proud of you. (Check out his riding section in “The Arrival” produced by Spencer Norris of WIT Productions. Pick up a copy today.) Scagliotti is one of the top riders to come out of Central Oregon along with Rob Carter. Continue to watch them as they progress throughout their young careers.

In pro men, Seattle Washington native Nick Jones, advanced out of the quarter finals placing 2nd in his heat. He then went on to take 3rd in the semifinals. During his run he fell, but Jones came back strong with a switch 7 then toe 9 just short of moving to the finals.

Mike Ennen, from Bellingham Washington, rode well taking 3rd in his 7 rider pro men quarter finals. Ennen just missed moving on to the semifinals. It is good to see Ennen out riding the pro circuit as a veteran rider from the Northwest. He recently took 1st at the 2007 Off Axis Wakeboard Festival in Germany. Check out the recap here.

WakeboardNorthwest would like to congratulate all of the Northwest Riders who competed at WWA Nationals. These guys are truly representing the Northwest and the talent that continues to emerge from our region.

If you want to see all three of these riders compete locally they will be riding in the BAKES Northwest Wakeboard Invitational Double-Up Contest July 28th at Coulon Park in Renton, WA. WakeboardNorthwest will be on location to cover the event and bring you the info you need as the official BAKES NWI Media web site. Don’t miss the Northwest Premiere Wake Competition for our regional pro riders.
