The Malibu Pro Team Challenge began airing today on FUEL TV. The show premiered at 5:00 pm Pacific time during the “Monday Night Events” block.  If you missed out on one of the first showings you will get many more chances to see the event coverage as it will continue to show a minimum of 10 to 13 additional times in the weeks to follow.  Alliance edited and filmed the event for FUEL TV in a unique presentation capturing the overall fun, team comraderie and competitive action of the event.

Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven Florida was the site of this one of a kind event. The Malibu Pro Team Challenge was broken into three categories: double up, wake and rail jam. Each team selected three riders per category. The judging was based on a points system that reflected advancements in each round. The Most team points took the top honors.

Coming out on top was the Hyperlite crew that consisted of Rusty Malinoski, Erik Ruck, Aaron Rathy and Jimmy LaRiche. Rusty took 3rd in the double up competition putting points on the board and was followed by Jimmy LaRiche, who went up against the big boys shocking everyone and winning the entire boat section of this tournament. LaRiche took out big names like Phillip Soven, Tino Santori and Andrew Adkison.

After the first few rounds of competition, the entire event hinged on the Rail Jam. It came down to seasoned veteran Erik Ruck having to get at least second place or better in order for Hyperlite to pull off the team victory. Ruck pulled through in clutch fashion showing everyone his rounded skills as a wakeboarder.
