Another summer is coming to an end. The water is getting a little colder and the days are becoming shorter. For most, this is a time of sadness. For others, it may mean a great snow season is to come. I hope with however you feel, you feel a sense of accomplishment, have little disappointment, and are leaving this summer with some really great memories. This summer for me was filled full of great times, good people, and memories that will last a lifetime. As usual the annual trip out to Idaho is always my favorite and I know everyone there was excited to end the last month of summer with a bang.
This year we took the trip two weeks later in the season and filmed for six days instead of four. We also shrunk our riding list to five that included: Tom Olson, Robby Carter, Nick Ennen, Jimmy Wolfe, and myself; all of which had different style. The group that came out all had something to bring to the table. I think I can speak for all when I say that we all learned something new from each person. There was never a dull moment. Whether it was building a 36’ long wall ride, bonking rocks and red bull coolers, diving-board dock starts, or getting shut down by the cops, it was all about cramming as much fun as possible into the six days that we could. We would be on the water by seven and not get off until about nine. All together, there was a good amount spent on this trip with it all coming out of the riders’ pockets. However, what was lost in the wallet was gained in friendship, good riding, and tons of laughs.
I would like to thank all the dedicated riders in the Northwest that make an effort to give back to the sport that brings so many great times and memories. Please come and support the new video from Jared Eygabroad of Scratch Films titled “Godspeed” due out next spring.
