Northwest Riders 2007 Summer Clinic Tour - Montana “Part II”

Posted on August 27th, 2007 by Bryan Myss | Posted in General, Riders

nwr_summertour_montana.jpg

It brings a tear to my eye knowing that this is the last article summing up this summers’ adventures on Tour. It’s been another great Northwest summer, with lots of time spent on the road and in dozens of lakes and rivers across the region. This being “Part II” of our story across Big Sky country, you probably guessed that there was a “Part I.” For those of you who haven’t read that riveting article, I will begin this tantalizing tale where I last left off: Great Falls, Montana.

Northwest Riders 2007 Summer Clinic Tour - Montana “Part I”

It seems as though another summer has flown by as fast as they always do. I know that we still have another month or so left of good weather and riding, but for all of us on the Northwest Riders Summer Tour, the end of August marks the end of our days on the road. What better place to end a few months on the road than a drive thru “the Treasure State.” That’s right, I’m talking about the “Land of Shining Mountains:” Montana! In fact, the story of our trip is bigger than the Montana sky, meaning I’ve got to chop our tasty tale in two (conveniently named Part I and Part II).

Nick Jones Has Surgery To Repair A Nagging Foot Injury

Posted on August 20th, 2007 by Bryan Myss | Posted in General, Riders

I am sitting here at the hospital in the waiting room while Nick Jones is in surgery. Nick has been plagued by an injury that occurred in January. However, it did not stop him from having another great season. He finished in the top 20 of the Pro Wakeboard Tour, appeared in the industry magazines, attended the CWB team photoshoot, and even had time to film a few sections for next year’s wake flicks. Nick Jones is truly one of the best Northwest grown riders. He is determined to start riding again in January after therapy is complete. We wish Nick all the best during his recovery. Stay tuned for further updates post his surgery.

I know that it’s been awhile since I last wrote, and it’s not because we’ve been sitting around doing nothing worthy of writing about. The Northwest Riders Clinic Tour is still in full effect (I’m actually writing this article as we make the long drive across Montana), in fact it seems that we’ve been busier than ever. We just wrapped up our trip thru Eastern Oregon, stopping at Lake Billy Chinook to visit our friends at Madras Marine for a few days of clinics.

The Liquid Force Maven Sessions have had another successful tour through the Northwest. More women were stoked on the sport of wakeboarding as a direct result of the LF women visiting dealers around the region and getting out on the water. The goal? Get women involved in wakeboarding and wakeskating that have never been exposed to the sport as well as increase the skills and passion for those that are progressing and learning each day.

Bakes Board & Ski played host to a Seattle stop for the ladies of LF recently. WakeboardNorthwest.com was on hand to document some local women getting world class instruction from a few of today’s best female wakeboarders.

The 2007 Bakes NWI Double Up event was once again a success building on last year’s popularity and reputation as the premier event for wakeboarding in Washington State. Drawing in the top talent from the region, the Bakes NWI saw large crowds and large action with riders getting boosted all day long.

Have a look back at the action from our vantage point as official media partner of the event. Come back tomorrow for a full photo essay of the action on and off the water.

nwriders_wakenw_01.jpg

The Northwest’s premier summer wakeboard clinic tour is set to start in just a few weeks. NW resident pros Brent Starr, Greg Young, Danny Bergman, Bret V, & Sean Kilgus will be hitting the road the first week of June to help riders learn how to ride for the first time, or to teach them a new trick or two. We encourage families and riders to sign up for one of the tour stops regardless of riding level. This tour is truly about promoting the sport of wakeboarding throughout the Northwest and to help folks learn to ride that otherwise would not have proper instruction.

Check out the schedule and save the date for the NWR Tour Stop nearest you. Don’t miss this opportunity to hang out with the NW best riders.
