Yesterday afternoon, at Coulon Park in Renton on the shores of Lake Washington, Thomas Olson landed a toeside 900 in the finals to WIN his first BAKES NWI title against defending 2 time Champion Bret V. Everyone who showed up to watch the NWI witnessed a passing of the torch between these long time friends from Gig Harbor. Many folks know that Bret V has been a mentor and significant influence in Thomas Olson’s wake career to this point. The 4th Annual BAKES NWI had the teacher give way to the protege’ in the closest finals decision the event has ever seen…
Congratulations Thomas Olson… we are proud of you bro ! And thanks to all the other invited riders who threw down with style and showmanship. This had to be one of the best wake comps I’ve been to locally.

The Northwest Riders 2008 Summer Tour has started and unbelievably is already one third of the way done. Clinics have been completed for the state of Idaho and are coming to Washington next in early July.

Malibu Boats lost one of their own recently when a tragic downhill skiing accident claimed the life of Emily Clothier, the 14-year old daughter of Western Malibu Boats Sales Manager, Steve Clothier. Emily grew up with Malibu Boats partaking in photo shoots, and other Malibu events. Emily was a Christian that loved Jesus and has moved on to be with our Lord in Heaven. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to benefit the “Emily Clothier Memorial Fund”. Please make checks payable to “Bank of the West” and write “Emily Clothier Memorial Fund” in the memo field. Proceeds will be used to perpetuate the future development of junior ski racing in South Lake Tahoe. Bank of the West’s mailing address is 2161 Lake Tahoe Blvd. South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
