Our furry friend, Wake Wookiee, is back with another article. This time he “interviewed” Northwest Wakeboarding Legend Bret V.

“Along with being a first-class ladies-man and a world-renowned wakeboarder, Bret V can now add “great American novelist” to his resume. Gentleman, Boater, Scholar: The Bret V Saga is a triumphant story of how a middle-class white boy overcomes the odds and becomes a first-rate Gentleman, Boater, and Scholar—and along the way, learns a few things about the human condition. V is for Victorious.”

Stopped by BAKES Marine the other day to say hello to a few friends. As I walked by Bret V’s office he said he was going to the Lake to demo the NEW ‘08 Malibu 23ft LSV Wakesetter. I was eager to see it in the water so I followed him to the lake and snapped a few photos. Take a look after the jump.

Check back for Bret V’s detailed outline showcasing the NEW features of the ‘08 Wakesetter. In the meantime, stop by the shop in Issaquah and say hello to local pro riders Bret V & Brandon Robins and the rest of the BAKES crew.

Nick Jones Update : Surgery Was a Success, Road to Recovery

Posted on September 11th, 2007 by Bryan Myss | Posted in General, Riders

nickjones_recovery.jpg

It’s been three weeks since Nick Jones went into surgery to repair a Liz Frank Fracture (a tear of the ligament between the first and second metatarsal) in his foot which was slowly pulling the two bones apart. He has been dealing with the injury most of the season since January when the initial fracture occurred. Now post surgery, Nick is in good spirits and on the road to recovery.

The surgery was successful from what his doctors say. While in the recovery room, Dr. Chi explained that once he removed the scared tissue from the injured area, the bones that were separated went right back in place. Dr. Chi says that the procedure went far better than he expected it would.

Read a post surgery interview with Nick Jones and see x-rays taken during his surgery after the jump.

Northwest Riders 2007 Summer Clinic Tour - Montana “Part II”

It brings a tear to my eye knowing that this is the last article summing up this summers’ adventures on Tour. It’s been another great Northwest summer, with lots of time spent on the road and in dozens of lakes and rivers across the region. This being “Part II” of our story across Big Sky country, you probably guessed that there was a “Part I.” For those of you who haven’t read that riveting article, I will begin this tantalizing tale where I last left off: Great Falls, Montana.

Northwest Riders 2007 Summer Clinic Tour - Montana “Part I”

It seems as though another summer has flown by as fast as they always do. I know that we still have another month or so left of good weather and riding, but for all of us on the Northwest Riders Summer Tour, the end of August marks the end of our days on the road. What better place to end a few months on the road than a drive thru “the Treasure State.” That’s right, I’m talking about the “Land of Shining Mountains:” Montana! In fact, the story of our trip is bigger than the Montana sky, meaning I’ve got to chop our tasty tale in two (conveniently named Part I and Part II).
