NW Native Nick Jones Interviews on Alliance

Posted on March 11th, 2011 by Zack | Posted in General, Riders

Our buddy Nick Jones recently had a short interview over on AllianceWake.com and we wanted to share the link with our readers that have followed Nick from the early days of his career here on WBNW.

The highlight question in our eyes:

If you could pick any place in the world too (sic) ride where would it be and why?

Nick: On Lake Washington up in Seattle with my Dad, because thats where it all started for me and what made me become addicted to this sport.

Always stoked to see Nick get some mainstream coverage. Nice work Jonesy…keep it up!

Read on for the full interview link and some riding videos of Mr. Jones.

Big Perm…Nick Jones is Back

Posted on May 17th, 2010 by Zack | Posted in General, Riders

I received an email the other day from Nick Jones and I’m pretty sure I could feel how pumped Nick was just in reading the words on my screen. Since moving to Seattle in 2005, Nick has been one of the top riders that I have really enjoyed going out on the lake with and even more so, just hanging out with. As many of you know, Nick had a bad foot injury awhile back and was struggling to get back to his old self as the foot kept throwing kink after kink in his riding. Which brings us back to his email.

Nick recently landed a trick that has never been done. He dubbed it the “Big Perm,” which is a pretty funny play on the current trick named the “Big Worm” crossed with Nick’s signature curly hair that sits atop his head and has become a bit of an identifier for him.

New Addition to the Family

Posted on February 20th, 2009 by Zack | Posted in General, Riders

A few weeks ago Wakeboard Northwest and Northwest native and Florida nomad Nick Jones got together on the ‘ol telephone and came up with the idea of having Jones be the official northwest news correspondent in Florida.

Jones will be giving his two cents to a dollar and change here on the site on a regular basis. This is the first of what we hope to be many articles to come.

On another note…today is Mr. Jones’s birthday…so Happy B-Day Nick! Click on to read his introduction to wakeboardnorthwest.com.

Alex Scagliotti Update : Coaching, Contests, and Filming

Posted on July 10th, 2008 by Bryan Myss | Posted in General, Riders

alexscagliotti-lifestyle.jpg

Alex Scagliotti has been busy this summer. He recently took the time to catch up with WakeboardNorthwest to tell us about his Wake season so far, his coaching experience at O-Town Water Sports, the 3rd place podium at the Tige Pro-Am, filming with WIT Productions, and coaching at ELEVATE Wakeboard Camp throughout the summer.

“This is what has been happening so far this summer. It started off with me making the move to Orlando, Florida from March-June (love the NW but you can’t ignore the climate). I was an instructor at O-Town which has helped my riding more than anything else so far in my riding career. I definitely got a little spoiled living on a lake, with warm weather, flat water, big wakes, and other riders to push me. The ever present alligators also gave me a little more incentive not to fall. My favorite part about working at the O-Town Water Sports was that every week it seemed like we had someone new from another country…….”

Read Alex’s full “blog style” update and check out some photo galleries posted after the jump.
